A point to ponder: God’s love stands when all else has fallen!
This week’s Word… ~ Acts 4:12: “Salvation is
found in no one else, for there is no other name under
heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved!”
Come to Calvary… ~ Our journey to the cross resumes with our next Mid-Week Lenten Service this WEDNESDAY 21 March @ 7 PM. There’s a taco supper beforehand at 5:45 PM. Our series theme is: Jesus Christ Is Our Great High Priest. This week God’s Word reminds us how Jesus is also a Priest Maker in all He does. Join your fellow Christians as we prepare to go up to Jerusalem
Where are they now? ~ Our 10:45 AM Adult Bible Class is studying: The Acts of the Apostles. Join us when you can to discuss how God blessed the spread of the Gospel and receive the Spirit’s motivation to answer our Savior’s charge: Go, and do thou likewise!
The OWLS will be going to see our own Jana Pochop perform here in Albuquerque. Consider this an invitation to share in a fun, free event. Jana will share the stage with Mandy Rowden. Both are now from Austin and sing folk and pop. Details are: Saturday, March 24; doors open at 6:30 PM; music starts at 7 PM; Solid Grounds Coffee House-St. Stephen's United Methodist; 4601 Juan Tabo NE. If you have questions or want more information, contact the church office.
Military Appreciation Day… ~ this is a day to have some fun and show our appreciation to our military both in our congregation and as an outreach to our military community. Tentative date is April 28, 2018-join us to either thank or be thanked. We are still in the planning stages and would GREATLY appreciate any help with planning.
ACTIVE SHOOTER PRESENTATION
For the Safety of our children and all members
of the congregation, we have been in contact with
Officer Mike Schroeder, APD, Homeland Security
Officer. We are coordinating with him on the steps
we should take to make our school and church as
safe as possible.
Officer Schroeder has suggested that the faculty,
school parents, church leaders and any other
interested church members attend an active
shooter presentation as soon as possible.
Officer Schroeder has scheduled such a presentation
for us on Friday, 13 April, at 1:00 PM.
It will take about an hour and a half.
Officer Rob DeBuck will lead us in this presentation.
Please mark your calendar and plan to attend.
We will be meeting at school (exact location TBD) from 4pm-5pm on Friday, February 23, March 9, March 23 and April 6. Please show your interest by signing up on the sheet in the back of church, also indicating if you will be purchasing/borrowing your own copy of the book or if you’d like to purchase through a bulk order ($10 plus taxes and shipping) and pay for it at the first discussion.
We Missed You!-Last week LIFE (Lutherans In Fellowship and Education), our women’s group, held an organizational meeting. We heard about many different committees through which we can serve Shepherd and our Savior. Please sign up for one of these committees on the sheets in the narthex. We were happy to see so many of you. If you were unable to join us, you have another opportunity on Sunday, March 25, at 10:45 AM.
An encouraging word… ~ We have Monday Evening Worship at 7 PM each week to afford those who are away on the weekend, busy with work or other family engagements the opportunity to sing our Savior’s praises, hear His saving Word and celebrate the Sacrament (on the first and third Mondays). Once again, let this be your invitation to worship with us when you can. Remember these
words from the Psalmist: Come, let us worship and bow
down, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker.
[Psalm 95:6] See YOU in Church!
