To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven!’ [Ecclesiastes 3:1/KJV]

Overheard:  The cross of Christ reveals man’s sin
at its worst and God’s love at its best.

This week’s Word… ~ Psalm 34:8
O come, let us worship and bow down: let us
kneel before the LORD our Maker!

Easter Set-up… ~ We will be setting up the fellowship hall for Easter Breakfast on April 18 at 1 PM. Also we will begin setting out breakfast at 6:15 AM on Easter morning, April 21st.  The more people we have to set up the quicker it will get done

Come to Calvary’s ho
ly mountain…~ As Christians the world over know, today – Palm Sunday – is the beginning of what the Church refers to as Holy Week.  We have the opportunity to worship often with our fellow believers as we remember what our Savior did to set us sinners free from sin, death and the power of the devil.  We invite you and yours to join us as we celebrate:

MAUNDY THURSDAY ~ April 18
6:30 PM ~ Worship Service w/Holy Communion

GOOD FRIDAY ~ April 19
1 PM & 6:30 PM ~ Remembrance of our Savior’s Death

EASTER SUNDAY ~ April 21: Jesus lives!
7 AM ~ Sunrise Worship … 8:30 AM ~ EASTER Breakfast
10 AM ~ EASTER Worship

We look forward to worshiping together with family and friends in the presence of our beloved Savior, Jesus Christ!

OWL News… ~ We will have a Bake & Craft sell on Sunday, May 5th.  Anyone wanting to contribute bake goods or crafts bring them that morning. The proceeds will go to support the Civilian Chaplaincy

As one month blends into another… ~ the Stewardship Chairman
is planning to hold yet another Financial Peace Stewardship Session on Wednesday evenings (7-8:30 PM) from 01 May to 26 June.  Perhaps you can find the time to participate and learn some of the important things our Savior says about personal stewardship as a tool to provide the follow-through for parish activities.

We’re looking into hosting a one-evening-a-week for three weeks VBS this summer culminating with a possible get-together at LUTHERHAVEN.  Watch for details

LOOKING AHEAD TO NEXT YEAR:

A group of Lutheran pastors and professors known as The Wartburg Project [headed by WELS Pastor John Brug/OT editor and WELS Pastor Brian Keller/NT editor] is completing a new translation of the Bible called the Evangelical Heritage Translation (EHV).  The complete EHV will be available through our Northwestern Publishing House beginning in July 2019.  Today, it is available for you to preorder.  Discounts will apply for every certain amount ordered.  Watch for more details soon.

An encouraging word… ~ We have Monday Evening Worship at 7 PM each week to afford those who are away on the weekend, busy with work or other family engagements the opportunity to sing our Savior’s praises, hear His saving Word and celebrate the Sacrament (on the first and third Mondays).  Once again, let this be your invitation to worship with us when you can.  Remember these
words from the Psalmist: Come, let us worship and bow
down, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker.
[Psalm 95:6]  See YOU in Church!
